Good News

Good news at my doctor visit this morning.  I had my post op doctor visit this morning.  I have been hurting quite a bit since the surgery and was thinking that either the surgery didn't work or that I had pulled something loose.  Doc said that I am healing slower than he would like to see but everything looks good.  Donna thinks that it is my RA drugs slowing the healing down.  I am optimistic that I will feel like climbing on my bike in another two weeks now. 

Also, there is no cancer, so I left his office tired (worked all night last night), sleepy and relieved.  I went home and celebrated by crawling in bed and sleeping 8 hours.

Changes

It's been a while since my last post and a lot of things have gone on during that time.  I had my surgery and I'm not sure it is going to fix my problem.  I go back to the doctor this Thursday so I am reluctant to be too happy about it yet.  On a good note, since I have been hurting else where again ... my RA is basically non existent.  It's really weird, but I think it is either that my body only recognizes one main source of pain at a time or my new job (see below).

I have switched to an 8 hour/5 day a week job in the pressroom (same company) and you would not believe how much of a difference it has made.  I have more energy, have not been hurting and mentally I feel a thousand times better.  I miss my days off and it will certainly impact my riding once I am able to ride again.  

Donna and I went to Wakarusa this past Saturday.  It has been a while since I have been to a large music festival, there were over 20,000 in attendance, and it was crazy.  We saw Ozomatli, Mumford and Sons and Ben Harper & Relentless.  I was tired (got off work at 7am that morning), sunburned and all of the walking hurt me but we both had a great day.    We left at 10:30 that night and there was still one more band to take the stage, but we were both pooped.
