A Day In Pictures

I have my latest flare behind me so after getting off work this morning, I got up at the crack of noon and stopped by my son-in-laws house.  David had marginally more sleep than I did but we were dragging our happy butts out to play today ... we had earned it!   We had a good ride today that was cut short because of my bike and a battery issue.  At one point, we pushed my bike up a steep little hill for a rolling start.  Mary, my hats off to you and all the other cyclist's out there.  I had not hurt this bad since Mike and I rode bicycles for cardio training.  While pushing my bike uphill, I'm pretty sure my lungs came out through my mouth trying to get air!
Oark is a cool little town, I always enjoy stopping in and visiting with the people there.  Check out that burger, the melted cheese doesn't even get to the edge of the patty.  Their home made pies are the best but neither of us had room for a piece today.  My dad actually worked at the canning factory at Oark keeping the boilers going after he came back from the Korean War.  It was located just down the street from the cafe.
Not much else to tell, my RA is somewhat behaving and I had a good day today in spite of my battery grief.  Here is part of my day in pictures.

Love your photos! Isn't it amazing how we call a good day pushing a bike up a hill? I always notice this in people's writing. We have so many days that are not kind to us & appreciate so much more what is really important: The moments we have a quiet tolerability in our days with RA.

love the burger.. gotta git my man on the grilling again. :)

Thanks Tammy. I am just happy that I FEEL LIKE pushing my bike up a hill. lol You are right, what is normal to every one else means so much to us. But I have to admit, before RA, I took my health for granted like most every one else does.

That was one tasty burger, don't know if they are that good or we just work up a hearty appetite by the time we get there. The pie is awesome though.

Thanks for sharing the pics and the adventure. I have been close to home lately and this helped me to get out and about :-)

"I'm pretty sure my lungs came out through my mouth trying to get air!" That's pretty funny. Been there felt that. Don't know how you pushed that monster up a hill of any size.

So glad your feeling better and can get out and do some fun stuff.

Deb, it felt good to feel like getting out. Been a rough 10 days or so, but it's looking up now. If everything goes well, I am taking off work in 2 weeks and doing a 2 or 3 day ride up into Missouri.

Mary, I knew you would know that feeling! It was push it up and roll off the hill to bump start it and continue riding or one of us sit there while the other went after the truck and be finished riding for the day. Just glad I felt up to pushing yesterday.

Beautiful places and beautiful photos, Terry. Nothing better than getting up at the crack o'noon and going out to play. Glad the RA isn't being too mean and that you had such a good time. Best to you as always...

Wren, it's not bad but I would rather have "normal people" hours. lol It recharges my batteries to get out away from everything where there is no cell phone coverage. It is a plus that my RA is semi behaving for now.
